Commonly known as magnesia magnesia magnesia raw materials such as magnesia raw materials by high temperature treatment to achieve the general degree of sintering products. The magnesia made from natural magnesite is called sintered magnesia by one-step or two-step calcination process with high-temperature equipment such as shaft kiln and rotary kiln; the magnesia formed by melting magnesia in electric arc furnace and cooling it to a melting state; and the magnesia made by extracting magnesia from seawater is called seawater magnesia. Magnesium sand is one of the most important raw materials for refractories. It is used for making various magnesia bricks, magnesia-alumina bricks, ramming materials, furnace filling materials and so on. It contains more impurities and is used for laying the bottom of steelmaking furnace.
High-purity magnesite is made from natural super magnesite by flotation and purification and calcination in light burning, fine grinding, ball pressing and ultra-high temperature oil shaft kiln. It is a high quality raw material for making bricks and indefinite refractories.
Medium grade magnesia is produced from light burned magnesia with 97% MgO by pressing ball and calcining in high temperature shaft kiln. The products are sintered well and crystallized. They are high quality raw materials for producing medium grade magnesia refractory products.
Fused magnesia is produced by melting selected natural magnesite of grade A or high purity light burnt magnesia particles in an arc furnace. The product has high purity, large crystalline, compact structure, strong slag resistance, good thermal shock stability, is an excellent high-temperature electrical insulation material, is also an important raw material for making high-grade magnesia bricks, magnesia-carbon bricks and amorphous refractories.
